Playing Hard to Get – Why it Will Backfire

I have heard this theory so many times and it just doesn’t make any sense to me, “men want women who are hard to get”.

Well, I can tell you that this is a myth! Yes, it may keep a man interested for a little while but that’s it.

To set an example let’s start with some of the classic hard to get behavior:

  1. When he approaches you at the bar – ignore him.
  2. Act like you don’t care, or even be mildly rude.
  3. Don’t return phone calls, or take several hours to call back.
  4. Cancel plans at the last minute.

The strategy behind this theory is to make yourself into the unattainable prize so the man can’t help but be interested. The problem is that in his mind he has built you up into the end-all, be-all of women and after he finally does get you he will start to wonder why he was so head-over-heels for you in the first place.

Part of the problem is that you have wasted so much time playing games that you never took the time to build a meaningful connection. You’re entire relationship was reduced down to the “chase”, once the chase is over it’s no longer fun for him.

If all you ever do is play games and try to hold the upper hand in a power struggle all the good men you find will leave for the following reasons:

  1. They assume that you are not interested.
  2. They decide you’re just not worth it.
  3. They find someone new (who’s actually fun).

And you will be stuck with the insecure loosers.

So while you’re sitting there thinking you’re so clever and so smart by playing games and making him jump through hoops, think about this:

  1. Men don’t like games, they just want someone who likes them and is nice to them.
  2. In the U.S. there’s 100 women for every 83 men, so there’s lot’s more fish in the sea for him than there is for you.

Let’s stop the games and have some fun for a change!

Happy Hunting!!
